Smriti Mandhana Joins Elite Club with Century in All Three Formats
Smriti Mandhana has carved her name into cricket history, becoming the first Indian woman to achieve centuries in all three international formats: Tests, ODIs, and T20Is.
Smriti Mandhana acknowledges the crowd after reaching her century.
This remarkable feat was accomplished during the first T20I match between India Women and England Women at Trent Bridge. Mandhana delivered a stunning innings of 112 runs off just 62 balls.
Leading as captain, Mandhana showcased a dominant performance, featuring 15 fours and three sixes. Her aggressive yet composed innings propelled India to a formidable total of 210/5 in 20 overs – their highest-ever T20I score against England.
This century also marked Mandhana's maiden T20I century, completing a rare achievement that no other Indian woman batter had attained until now. Her century set an aggressive tone early on, combining elegance with power. She neutralized England's top spinners, such as Sophie Ecclestone, with fearless strokeplay.
Valuable contributions also came from Harleen Deol (43 off 23) and Deepti Sharma (7 not out off 3), as India maintained a strong run rate throughout the innings. Lauren Bell was the most successful of England’s bowlers with three wickets.
Mandhana's accomplishment positions her among an elite group globally, as only a select few cricketers, male or female, have achieved centuries across all three formats of the game. This milestone is a defining moment, not only for her career but also for Indian women’s cricket, inspiring a new generation of cricketers to dream big and overcome challenges.
With this commanding performance, Mandhana has reaffirmed her status as a key figure in Indian women’s cricket.
