The Orcas successfully chased down a colossal target of 238, marking the highest successful run chase in MLC history. Hetmyer's unbeaten 97 off 40 balls secured the win, leaving the crowd in awe.

MI New York had earlier set a formidable target of 237/4, largely thanks to captain Nicholas Pooran's explosive 108 not out from 60 deliveries, which included 7 fours and 8 sixes. He was well supported by Tajinder Dhillon, who contributed a rapid 95 off just 35 balls.

Despite the onslaught, Gerald Coetzee and Kyle Mayers each managed to grab two wickets, helping the Orcas regain some control.

Seattle's chase began shakily, with Josh Brown and Shayan Jahangir falling early. However, Kyle Mayers (37 off 20) and captain Sikandar Raza (30 off 9) launched a counter-attack. Heinrich Klaasen added a quickfire 26 off 13 balls before being dismissed.

Then came Hetmyer's heroics. With the required run rate escalating and wickets falling, Hetmyer shifted gears, smashing 5 fours and 9 sixes at an astonishing strike rate of 242.50.

The game culminated in a dramatic final ball. With five runs needed for victory, Hetmyer faced MI New York's captain, Kieron Pollard. He expertly flicked the ball over fine leg for a six, securing a memorable victory for the Seattle Orcas.

"This one is one of the best, because our backs were against the wall," said Hetmyer, who was named Player of the Match. "Today is one of those days, where I went with a clear mind and wanted to take the game as deep as possible."
