
Pakistan have named uncapped batter Eyman Fatima in their squad for the Women’s World Cup 2025. Fatima recently made her international debut in the T20I series against Ireland, where she scored 27 runs from two innings with a highest score of 23.
The right-handed batter recently impressed in Pakistan’s National T20 tournament. The 15-member squad features several players, who will be making their first appearance at the grand stage of the Women’s World Cup, namely Natalia Parvaiz, Rameen Shamim, Sadaf Shamas, Sadia Iqbal, Shawaal Zulfiqar and Syeda Aroob Shah.
Fatima Sana will continue to lead the side as Pakistan aim to win their maiden ICC trophy. The Women in Green will begin their campaign against Bangladesh on October 2 followed by the blockbuster fixture against India on October 5. They will play all of their group stage matches at the R. Premadasa International Cricket Stadium in Colombo.
Pakistan earned qualification for the World Cup through the ICC Women's Cricket World Cup Qualifier held in April 2024. The side finished in the pole position, after winning all their games, including victories against West Indies and Bangladesh.
The Fatima Sana-led side finished on top after winning all five of their matches , including victories against West Indies and Bangladesh. Pakistan will warm up for the World Cup with a three-match ODI series against South Africa, scheduled to be played in Lahore between 16-22 September.
They will take part in a 14-day camp prior to the South Africa series from Friday, 29 August.
